Nicholas Hagan is currently in his 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University. In May 2019, he will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in mechanical systems. Nick is a member of a number of professional and student organizations including ASHRAE, SSAE, and Everyday Benefiting THON where he has held an executive chair for four years. Outside of academics, Nicholas is very involved in THON. He has spent all 5 years at Penn State actively fundraising and volunteering to help fight pediatric cancer. He enjoys outdoor sports such as snowboarding, golf, soccer, kayaking, hiking, and many more. During the past two summers, Nicholas worked in electrical and mechanical engineering internships with Westmoreland Electric Services as an Assistant Project Manager, and with BR+A as a Mechanical Engineer Design Intern. BR+A is a consulting firm concentrating in the design of new buildings for architecture clients focusing on medical and lab buildings. Westmoreland Electric s subcontracted to build many Penn State projects here at University Park. These experiences provided him with valuable experience and insight into the design, coordination, and construction of a variety of building types and fields.  Nicholas is scheduled to take the FE Exam this year and will gain EIT status upon graduation. In the short term, he looks forward to beginning work as mechanical engineer with BR+A to gain knowledge and practical experience in the mechanical engineering profession. it is his goal to eventually gain his license as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering.
